Jane Bruce
Physiotherapist in Nanaimo

I provide focused, one-on-one treatment sessions for people with chronic, long-standing issues. My areas of interest are chronic pelvic girdle pain, long-standing pelvic floor issues, and abdominal wall dysfunction. Because I use a whole-body approach, I welcome patients with multiple areas of concern.

My sessions are a combination of hands-on techniques and training new movement patterns through education and exercise. I aim to create lasting, positive changes in the way people move and feel.

What I Do

I enjoy treating a wide variety of people and conditions, but I tend to focus on adults with chronic, long-standing dysfunction and discomfort. I use a whole-body approach that welcomes patients with multiple areas of concern. My practice is active – I apply hands-on techniques through movement and in different positions, and we continually develop your home exercise program. Here are some of the conditions I treat:

– Chronic Pelvic Girdle Pain (including hip, sacroiliac joint, and pubic symphysis pain)

– Pelvic Floor (stress and urge urinary incontinence, pain, vaginismus, dyspareunia)

– Perinatal Health

– Abdominal Wall Dysfunction (post-partum, post-surgery, rectus diastasis)

– Chronic back pain
